The Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Service (ADHD) has a provincial mandate to provide assessment, treatment for children and youth ages 6 to 17 years and their families. The service follows a family focused model within a multidisciplinary team and provides diagnostic services as well as subsequent treatment and support.

Telehealth consultation services are provided to those that are living outside of Winnipeg. The ADHD Service staff work in partnership with Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health regional offices in those areas.

Population Served

The ADHD Service sees children and youth between the ages 6 to 17 years and their families. This population also may have additional and complex mental health disorders.

Referral Process

Families may self-refer through Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centralized Intake Service at 204-958-9660, however, a physician referral is required for psychiatric/medication consultation.

Services Offered

Services may include combinations of the following:

  • Behavioural management/parenting strategies
  • Group activities
  • Occupational Therapy consultation, treatment, education
  • School liaison
  • Psychiatric consultation regarding diagnostic clarification and subsequent recommendations*
  • Medication consultation and education*

* Indicates the requirement of a physician referral to access

Once accepted to the ADHD Service, parents are required to complete the SNAP-IV 26 – Teacher and Parent Rating Scale. To assist in your child receiving service please print and complete this form.
